After look at the photos from my photoshoot, i tried to manipulate them to suit the pop genre by either changing the saturation to black or white, brightening the images.

I cropped 4 images and tried editing them by using the pop art convener on line, i thought it looked effective however i decided against it in the end as my magazine was developing the conventions of a pop magazine not challenging them.

This long shot will be good to use in either my contents page or front cover, I took this photo hoping that i would be able to cut out the background. I was able to do this, I also thought about either wrtiitng on the background and having this picture as something the fans can cut out and either use a picture to keep.

This is a long shot of Rosa, that includes a full body shot, which would be good either for the front cover as it is a plain background. Her body position is casual and not formal this coincides with the poppy vibe.

This mediumshot has a slight high angle, is what i hope to feature on my double page spread as the white space on the top is perfect for me to do some editing and include Rosa name.

This shot is a medium landscape shot, of Rosa at her dressing table. The reader will be able to relate to this as the target audience (young girls)all will have, and love jewellery and makeup as.This shot would be effective on the double page spread as in the interview I'm finding out information about Rosa and in this photo we find out what makeup and perfume she uses. The fans will appreciate this information as they might be able to relate to both sharing the favourite perfume 'One Direction,Our moment'.

This medium shot is effective as Rosa is making direct eye contact with the reader, the photo would be a good choice to use for the front cover. Also the plain white background allows the focus to be on Rosa. Again the hand features follows to the conventions of a pop artists photoshoot.

This photo is a mediun shot, i chose to use the plain bright pink background as the backing so Rosa could stand out.Also the colour pink connotes energy,excitement and love. Her hand up agaisnt the wall is a feature many pop artists use as shown in my research, their hands are used around their face.

This shot is an over the shoulder shot of Rosa, her reflection in the mirror is the centre of the image. Rosa Smiling portrays her happy personality. The shot is portait, if i was to use this shot i would use it on the double page spread.



















This is a wide angle shot, it is an action shot as Rosa has just turned around quickly this is shown as her hair is not perfectly positioned also the photo isn't completely focused. This shows her fun side as its not a serious direct address shot as she is smiling.

My artist

Rosa Deane

Age 17, grew up in a small village called Graven Hurst. Rosa has always desired to be a pop star, and for people to enjoy and share her passion for music. As she was growing up her inspiration came from stars such as Christina Aguilera and Beyoncé. Rosa has sung from a young age, and once turned 13 started turning her passion into her dream by singing at  friends parties, events, local gigs, until she got signed this summer and has now just released her first single 'Live your life'. Rosa is currently building up her fan base through Twitter and Facebook, she already has a big following and always likes to keep her fans informed of her latest news.

These photos of established music artist are both inspiration for my artist 'Rosa Deane' but also for my photo-shoot, which I will then go on to use the photos throughout my magazine. The female pop icons include Katy Perry, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Cher Lloyd and Lady Gaga.
The conventions of pop photo-shoot consist of perfect hair and makeup rather than the grudge look with messy hair which may be associated with rock/indie music. Stylish, modern clothing including the latest trends so that they appeal to their target audience. These shots are all making direct eye contact with the reader to entice them into reading into their story whether it was in a magazine, or listening to their song on an advert. Plain background or faded is common so the focus is on the star themselves.

CHANGE OF IDEA /PITCH

Today (6th November) I decided to change my band Fusion to a single female artist called 'Rosa Deane'. I chose to change my idea as my model is more reliable and easy to use rather than a group of people. Also I feel more confident focusing on female music artists rather than a band as I can easily relate more being a female and from my knowledge will be able to write and construct a better double page spread to ensure the readers gets all the information they need. The magazine will still be called splash with the same demographic audience profile just with a different artist.


Miss Pop is the new upcoming pop magazine which will be issued fortnightly and after thorough research the price will be £2.75
The cover story that will feature is of Rosa Deane a young girl who has just started her career in the music industry, the exclusive interview will reveal where she started and what is upcoming for her.
The feature will be a chance for  Rosa to promote herself, social networking links will be included through out the whole magazine to keep up with the upcoming date and popularity of social networking and the Internet
Regular features will include; exclusive interviews, features of aspiring music stars, links to upcoming music stars such as their twitter, advice, CD reviews, latest fashion trends and 'Song of the fortnight'.
